Wyoming Highway Patrol to hold Bitcoin on balance sheet

The US state of Wyoming highway workers’ union has said that it is looking into adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet.

The “Get Off Zero” campaign urges businesses to hold a tiny portion of their assets in Bitcoin.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol Association (WHPA) and Proof of Workforce have partnered to launch the “Get Off Zero” initiative.

“The Initiative may be the first law enforcement organization in the United States to have Bitcoin listed on its balance sheet.”

With an emphasis on cryptocurrency investments, the “Get Off Zero” campaign encourages businesses to set aside a tiny portion of their portfolio for Bitcoin.

The WHPA was created in 1974 and provides resources and assistance to its civilian employees, troopers, dispatchers, and port of entry officers. Group members can learn about the operation of the digital asset ecosystem through the “Get Off Zero” initiative.

Austin Bluemel, WHPA Vice President, stated, “We are thrilled to investigate Bitcoin as a network and asset to assess how it can further support our organization and its members.”

Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming Highway Applauds the Initiative

Cynthia Lummis, a state senator who has been an outspoken supporter of Bitcoin Reserves, has expressed her support for the project.

“The Wyoming Highway Patrol Association will be able to continue keeping our highways safe throughout the Cowboy State thanks to their investment in Bitcoin,” she stated.

“I’m thrilled they’re still utilizing new technology to further their goals.”

According to Dom Bei, the founder of Proof of Workforce, this “may serve as a precedent” for other law enforcement organizations in the United States.

Bei added that the currency would be a dependable and solid long-term tool for workers in unforeseen emergencies, saying, “Bitcoin continues to protect the time and energy of those who protect us.”

A non-profit group called Proof of Workforce provides governments, labor unions, pension funds, and employees with free Bitcoin education.

The group has previously assisted the Santa Monica Firefighters in keeping Bitcoin in their possession. Further, it has worked with other unions globally to raise Bitcoin awareness and education.
