Thursday was the day that YouTube announced that its Dream Screen feature for Shorts now allows users to construct movie backdrops using artificial intelligence
Dream Screen was previously limited to the creation of image backgrounds. The new capability is made possible by incorporating Veo, Google DeepMind’s AI video-generation model, which can produce 1080p video clips in various cinematic styles.
The feature now allows users to convert text prompts into AI video backgrounds. The feature can be accessed by entering the Shorts camera, tapping the “green screen” icon, and then selecting “Dream Screen.”
It is possible to enter a prompt, such as “candy landscape” or “magical forest with a stream,” from that point. Subsequently, opt for an animation design and then “Create.”
The Dream Screen utility will generate a sequence of video backgrounds from which you may select. You can record a video with an AI video background behind you once you have chosen one.
According to YouTube, the new feature can be employed to create an animated opening for your Short or immerse oneself in their preferred book’s setting.
YouTube intends to provide creators with the capacity to produce six-second-long, self-contained video segments for Shorts in the future via Dream Screen.
It is important to mention that YouTube is providing Shorts creators access to a feature not available on TikTok, the premier short-form video platform.
TikTok presently does not permit the creation of video backgrounds even though it allows creators to generate AI-powered background images.
The new feature is currently accessible in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
