YouTube is currently conducting a trial of integration with Google Gemini to assist creators in developing video concepts, titles, and thumbnails
In a video posted to its Creator Insider channel, the Google-owned company announced the introduction of the new Brainstorm with Gemini feature.
A spokesperson for YouTube informed TechCrunch that the feature is currently accessible to a limited number of creators as part of a tiny, experimental program. Before determining whether to expand the feature, YouTube will evaluate creator feedback.
The new tool has the potential to provide YouTube with a competitive advantage over other social media video platforms that creators frequently utilize, as it provides them with a feature that is not available on these competing platforms. Furthermore, it is logical for Google to integrate its AI into its video platform to motivate creators to utilize its AI tools rather than other prominent platforms, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The Brainstorm with Gemini feature is comparable to another AI feature that YouTube tested in May. This feature is an AI-powered content inspiration tool that provides creators with video topic ideas that their audience is interested in and then generates an outline of talking points to begin the creation process.
The spokesperson informed TechCrunch that creators now have the opportunity to receive the same level of assistance, but with Gemini, the brand name for the family of AI large language models that are utilized in numerous Google products. YouTube regards the new feature as a means of determining whether creators favor the inspiration tool, the Gemini integration, or both when obtaining assistance with content ideas.
Creators participating in the experiment may access YouTube Studio, input a video concept into the search bar, and then be presented with two alternatives: the Brainstorm with Gemini feature and the inspiration tool. YouTube is interested in determining whether creators also find it beneficial to collaborate with Gemini, even though the inspiration tool already assists in generating video ideas.
YouTube is currently concentrating on using generative AI to assist creators in creating their content, while platforms such as TikTok and Instagram are utilizing the technology to enable creators to create digital representations of themselves.
