Instant speech meetings, like Slack’s Huddles, are coming to Google Chat, letting you quickly switch to a voice or video call from within a chat
No changes will be made to the name of the feature, though. Google will keep calling it “Huddles.”
If you are in Google Chat and want to start a huddle quickly, click on the drop-down menu next to the chat icon and choose “Start the huddle.”
It will start out as a talk call, but like with Google Meet, users can swap screens or turn on video.
The feature was first mentioned by Google last year as part of an update to Google Chat. It is now rolling out to all Workspace users and will be available to everyone in the next few weeks.
