Ronin is integrating AI tools from NRN Agents to revolutionize gaming with reinforcement learning, offering smarter, immersive gameplay. The initiative kicks off in February with a proof-of-concept using AI Arena to train intelligent in-game agents.
Ronin’s Ethereum layer-2 network will launch AI tools for developers later this year to improve game experiences. The integration, powered by NRN Agents from ArenaX Labs, will begin with a “proof-of-concept demonstration” in February before a wider rollout across the ecosystem.
NRN Agents, created by the AI Arena team, will be introduced with an event where players train “Reinforcement Learning agents” to produce data. These agents are trained by receiving rewards and penalties instead of copying others.
Later, they will compete against each other, allowing for a more advanced way of learning than standard AI methods.
Wei Xie, the COO of ArenaX Labs, pointed out that reinforcement learning can help make games more clever and dynamic. AI could take the place of regular non-playable characters (NPCs) and help solve problems such as improving how players interact with each other and allowing AI to compete against other AI. Xie said, “NRN Agents make games much more immersive.”
This project is similar to what the Ethereum gaming brand Illuvium is doing. They want to improve non-player characters (NPCs) and gameplay by using AI agents through the Virtuals Protocol, which will make the game more interesting and enjoyable for players.
